Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...(Matt28:19)

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? - Matthew 6:26

5 Steps To Win Over Worry
The complexities and pace of modern life has increased the problem of anxiety in many people. it has been termed as 'the most pervasive psychological phenomenon of our time.' Anxiety varies in intensity. Moderate anxiety can often improve efficiency and help people avoid dangerous situations whereas high anxiety is undesirable because it can interfere our thinking process, affect memory, limit performance skills, hinder communication and at times causing paralysis, intense headaches, ulcers, stuttering speech or high blood pressure.

How do we stop worrying? Let me share with you 5 time proven steps from the Bible that can help you win over anxiety.

1. DON’T FACE IT ALONE, SHARE YOUR PROBLEMS
Share it with someone you can trust and who can help you. The best person I can think of is God. Tell God everything, even the small details for He hears the cry of your fainting hearts. Tell Him your disappointments, frustrations, anger and the fears in your heart. God will not betray your confidence or think little of you. You can be completely honest with Him and He is able and available to help you.

We are often worried about yesterday and tomorrow that we forget to live today.

2. LIVE ONE DAY AT A TIME
We are often worried about yesterday and tomorrow that we forget to live today. We cannot change yesterday and God promises to take care of your tomorrow. Concentrate on what you can do now. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is in the future but today cannot wait. Occupy today with meaningful activity.

3. STOP WASTING YOUR TIME
To worry is most exhaustive and demanding yet an absolutely barren activity. Jesus says, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Yes, worry will get you no where except down under your problems.

4. DIRECT YOUR THOUGHTS TOWARDS POSITIVE THINGS
Anxiety will surely arise when we think about human weakness, problem, injustice and what may go wrong. Jesus tells us to dwell on things which are honorable, right, pure, lovely, excellent and praise worthy. Our thoughts affect our emotions and actions. Filter every thought. Allow only thoughts that will build you up and you will experience the power of healthy Christian thinking (Phil 4:8,9). Get a Bible and read it. It contains Gods' unfailing promises. God will fulfill every promise when you believe and claim them. Keep them always in your mind throughout the day.

To have the peace of God you need to be at peace with God

5. START TO SING
Rejoice. When things go blur and grey, start to sing. Sing songs of hope and victory, not despair and pain. Sing about God because your faith and confidence will rise when you realize that God is greater than your problems, in fact any problem. Singing re-enforces your faith to cling on to the changeless, powerful God to face changing events. I know it is hard to sing when you do not feel like it, but when you will it, your heart will be strenghtened.

When you act upon the 5 steps above, you will be able to handle anxiety better. Yet true, lasting peace comes only when you deal with your broken relationship with God. To have the peace of God you need to be at peace with God. Jesus the Prince of Peace has opened the way to restore you to God by dying for you. Receive Jesus as the answer from God and receive the peace of God into your heart.

NUGGETS OF TRUTH
Peace cannot be bought or earned
Peace comes only from God
Peace is not the absence of problem

Peace is tranquility in the midst of problem
Peace is not just a feeling
Peace is a right relationship with God and man

QUOTATIONS FROM 'OUR DAILY BREAD'
Broken things can become blessed things if you let Christ do the mending.

When trouble calls on you, call on God.

God's help is only a prayer away!

When you look out it may be night; when you look up its always light.

Frequent prayers lessen daily cares.

Safety is not the absence of danger but the presence of God.
